Steak sub roll

This classic steak sandwich is a real lunchtime treat, best served piping hot with crisp, fresh salad leaves and a dollop of mustard mayonnaise.

2 Roberts Bakery sub rolls
500g of steak thinly sliced
1 red onion sliced
Coarsely ground black pepper
Salt to taste
2 dessert spoons of mustard mayonnaise
2 tomatoes
Fresh rocket
Olive oil

Method:

  • Sprinkle both sides of the steak with salt and pepper, then brush with olive oil
  • Heat a cast-iron or non-stick pan and sear the steak for about 2 minutes on each side. Remove from the pan
  • Cook the onion for 2 minutes in the remaining oil
  • Line the sub rolls with sliced tomato, fresh rocket and mustard mayo
  • Add the steak and onion and serve.
