Roberts Bakery are delighted to be working with local chef Jason Palin to create some delicious recipes using Roberts bread as an ingredient. You will be amazed at just how versatile the humble slice of bread can be, from making an easy baked cod crust, to a goats cheese basket or even a sweet rhubarb crumble topping.
Jason’s interest in food began at the tender age of 6 when his dad encouraged Jason and his brothers to forage, catch, cook and eat their own food. While it wasn’t his brothers cup of tea, for Jason it was the start of a fantastic foodie adventure that carries on to this day.
As Jason says, “Through my life, I have been lucky enough to cook in many countries of the world, experiencing many different cuisines, both professionally and for pleasure. I have spent time with award winning chefs in Australia and I have cooked for many “high profile” business leaders and “stars” in places like Switzerland and America and even on movie location sets”.
Jason now divides his time between the UK and Portugal, teaching at The Cheshire Cookery School and Mid Cheshire College, as well as writing a column for Concept for Living magazine, hosting a local radio show and organising Cheshire food evenings. Jason lives by the philosphy that “life is for enjoying and the more we smile the more the sun shines. Cook and be happy; enjoy every moment even when the heat is on”!
