Eggy bread

Great to make with the family for a quick after school treat or as an indulgent weekend breakfast, this recipe for eggy bread will soon become a firm favourite.

Ingredients:
Serves 2 

1 egg
2 tsp brown sugar
125ml milk
4 slices of Roberts Bakery white sliced bread
50g butter for frying 

Method:

  • Whisk the egg and sugar together
  • Gradually add the milk while continuing to beat the mix
  • Pour the egg mixture into a shallow dish and soak each slice of bread
  • Over a moderate heat, melt some butter in a pan and fry each slice of bread until golden brown and crispy
  • Serve straight away.  Try serving with golden syrup, honey or jam for an indulgent breakfast.
